Irvington Truck or Treat

October 31, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Halloween Trunk or Treat! Once again the VIA is delighted to host this fun-filled family event. Last year we had a BLAST!!! So many adorable, scary, freaky, costumed children, parents, and pooches showed up for a super Halloween on the Historic Irvington Commons! Lots of fun, laughter, and of course….candy! We conclude the evening’s festivities with a Costume Parade walking around the field. Last year we heard a child say, “This is the happiest “HaPpY Halloween” EVER!

Halloween Trunk or Treat
Tuesday, October 31st
5 PM – Trunk or Treat
6 PM – Costume Parade

Halloween brings ghosts, ghouls, goblins, witches, princesses, superheroes, and all types of crazy costumes to the Historic Irvington Commons. It’s an exciting, fun-filled annual event sponsored by the Village Improvement Association (VIA).

All area children, 12 and under, are invited to participate. Irving the Pumpkin will be there to welcome everybody and the VIA will be handing out candy and goodies starting at 5 PM. (Children must be accompanied by an adult.)

We encourage the kids to have fun and get creative with their costumes! We want to see the scariest, the most creative, and the most original costumes. At 6 PM we will have a parade around The Commons. And parents… no pressure! There will be no costume judging….. we’re all about fun for everyone!

Rain will cancel this event. The latest updates and weather-related information for this event will be found on the Irvington VA – VIA Events Facebook page.

Reminders for a safe Halloween:

  • Make sure costumes, masks, and footwear fit correctly.
  • Check the eye holes in masks to ensure they are large enough for full vision.

If you plan on trick-or-treating in a neighborhood:

  • Check for loose costumes or capes that could brush up against jack-o-lanterns.
  • Choose fabrics that are flame resistant.
  • Test props for safety and non-toxic materials.
  • Use reflective tape for dark costumes.
  • Make sure children carry a flashlight.
