The Wild Place is a 1989 Ford School Bus transformed into the cutest, coziest stay this side of the Mississippi. It sits on 5 wooded acres with a walking path that leads to a kayak depth cove where you can take one of the provided paddleboards or canoes out into the Corrotoman River. Highlights include a movie projector in the main bedroom, privacy curtains throughout, retro style toaster oven and induction burner, tiled shower with hot water and flush toilet, and abundant views of nature.
The space
The Wild Place Bus is nestled into what we lovingly call “the mountain nook”, a rare geographical feature in the Tidewater region. It has its own parking space (for one car) and detached deck platform that cantilevers off the hillside. Our entire property is five acres which includes The Wild Place bus, our home, Ally’s ceramics studio and about 25’ of kayak depth frontage on a cove. You’ll walk past our home, gardens and studio to get to the water but rest assured your stay will feel private. 1 bedroom, 2 beds, 1 bath.
