Join artist Doug Mock for his spring series of watercolor classes where we will focus on painting the human portrait. During this session artists will learn to paint a different feature of the face each week (i.e.. eyes, ears, nose, mouth (both open and closed), and hair. Please note you DO NOT have to paint the portrait. You are free to work on any subject during this series of classes and Doug will assist as needed.
We are painting the five key features of the face. Doug plans to cover each of these features twice during the 10-week session. If you miss a certain feature early in the session, please know that you will have a second opportunity later in the session.
We will paint the portrait that you see attached. We will NOT paint someone we know or love.
You will paint this portrait in a finished size of 15” x 22” (or a half sheet of watercolor paper). It is recommended that you use 300lb. cold press paper.
Doug will be offering a free class to teach and help you enlarge this portrait using the grid method on Wednesday, February 12th starting at 2:30 pm. Rest assured if you cannot make the 12th Doug will help you as needed.
