Northern Neck Heritage Scavenger Hunt

July 1 - August 31

ON THE ROAD or ON THE WEB!

Lancaster Virginia Historical Society joins
17 other Historic Sites and Museums for the new
Northern Neck Heritage Scavenger Hunt

Participate from July 1 to August 31, 2020.

While LVHS’ museum and library currently remain closed to the public, we invite you to discover our area’s history and heritage from your car or from your computer!

There are TWO available scavenger hunts in which you can participate – while practicing safe social distancing – with your family, roommates, or on your own. You will also have the opportunity to enter to win museum shop discounts and items from participating locations!

1 – Physical Scavenger Hunt
Download the #NNKroadtrip PDF
Walk or drive around the Northern Neck to locate specific items at participating museums.
Snap a photo of the object and tag both the museum location and #NNKroadtrip on Instagram or Facebook.
Continue on your journey until ALL stops are completed.

2 – Digital Scavenger Hunt
Download and print the Digital Scavenger Hunt PDF
Search the websites of participating organizations and look for specific images, facts, or other content to answer the questions for the Northern Neck Heritage Digital Scavenger Hunt. Note the answers on the printed PDF file. Once you’ve found the answer to all of the questions, enter them on the Scavenger Hunt Online Form and submit it.

Everyone who competes in one or both of the scavenger hunts will be entered into a drawing to win museum shop discounts and items from participating locations.

The Northern Neck Heritage Scavenger Hunt is a collaboration by Northern Neck cultural organizations to present a unique scavenger hunt experience. Beginning on July 1 and running through August 31, this initiative has been carefully tailored to create a new way of engaging with the Northern Neck community while being aware of the unique challenges brought about by the COVID-19 global pandemic.
