Founders Day in Urbanna

August 1 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Established in 1680, Urbanna is one of the oldest towns in America! Celebrate the founding of this port town starting with the tobacco and oyster trades. Join us for “A Celebration of Urbanna’s Colonial History”.

There will be a Mitchell Map presentation in front of If It’s Wood at 51 Cross Street on August 1 at 10:00am and 11:30am. The pandemic has caused us to change the annual celebration of our founders but it has not changed our enthusiasm for our founders or the great history of our special Town!
Instead of a one-day celebration, we will honor our past during the full month of August! You will find articles and information about our deep history and its importance to the founding of our country. Each week a different story will be presented in writing, videos of former plays revisited and past celebrations remembered.
Celebrate Urbanna’s history all month in print in the Southside Sentinel newspaper or online. Also on Facebook. and Urbanna.com.
