In this two-day workshop, students will learn how to combine the mediums of traditional oil paints with bee’s wax, to create a unique textured painting in any subject of choice. The instructor will demonstrate two styles of how to use this medium, as an abstract or as a more representational style painting. Cold wax and oil paintings are the rage and are becoming increasingly popular with artists and collectors. This technique is for all those who are risk takers, want to try a new medium or who want to find a way to loosen up. Please bring a few visual references of subjects you are interested in to interpret as a cold wax/oil painting. Also bring a bagged lunch or midday snack.
