Join us on June 22nd, 2025 at Antioch Baptist Church located at 159 Oakes Landing Road, Saluda to commemorate 160 years since the first Juneteenth. Local African American Civil War soldiers and sailors will be recognized, including Samuel Mayo of Saluda, who went into Galveston with General Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865. Reenactors representing the 23rd Regiment of the United States Colored Troops will participate in the program which will include a wreath-laying ceremony.
