Join instructor Nathan Pope for a hands-on workshop exploring the art of soft pastels. Whether you’re brand new to pastels or looking for a refresher, this class will guide you step-by-step through creating your own landscape. Participants will learn how to begin a pastel painting using underpainting techniques, apply, layer, and blend soft pastels, and choose the best surfaces for pastel work. There will also be time to work on your own painting, and participants are encouraged to bring landscape photos for inspiration. TAG will provide pastels, paper, and other materials, though those who own pastels are welcome to bring their own. The workshop will take place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at TAG – Tappahannock Artists’ Guild. The fee is $30. This is the same class Nathan taught in the spring, and an advanced workshop for those who complete the introductory class will be offered in Spring 2026.
