Like other kinds of imagery, ekphrasis paints a picture with words. What makes it different from something like pictorialism is that the picture it paints is itself a picture: ekphrasis stages an encounter between representations in two mediums, one visual and one verbal.
Imagine a story from a painting or create artwork from a story. Marty Taylor and Sally Honenberger will provide inspiration to artists and writers to collaborate with an invisible partner or a selected colleague. Bring a friend. Brainstorming, editing, and critique to produce a book to take home and complete.
This workshop is part of the Paint Me A Story Exhibition now showing at TAG through the end of September.
Snacks provided. $15/person. Registration Required.
