Curry is a Professor of History & Ethnic Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln\, specializing in South African resistance & protest struggles.  A Lancaster County native and former US Fulbright Scholar\, she earned her PhD from Michigan State University. She is the author of two books on apartheid history  and is currently working on her third single-authored book\, tentatively titled\, “Eulogizing Apartheid’s Dead”. \nJoin Dr. Dawne Y. Curry for a compelling presentation examining South Africa’s history under apartheid. This talk explores the powerful role of music\, tracing how it served as both a vital vehicle for political resistance and a crucial tool for community healing and catharticism.
