For years, cyclists throughout Virginia and the Chesapeake Bay region came to Kilmarnock to explore the Northern Neck during the annual Northern Neck River Ride.

This year’s event aims to bring back this scenic adventure while supporting an effort that will make the region an even more attractive destination for riders. River Ride 2026 is raising funds for the Northern Neck Bike Club, a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 2024 to promote outdoor adventures, maintain trails, and mentor young riders. The Northern Neck Bike Club is currently raising funds to help build the first public mountain bike trail network in the Northern Neck.
