Scary Halloween

Oct 31, 2017 6:00 pm - Oct 31, 2017 8:00 pm

Yes, Halloween this year is on what we will call “Terrible Tuesday” and, ready or not, the goblins, ghouls, ghosties, and z-z-z-zombies are beginning to stir and moan in the “Wailin’ Woods and “Field of Screams”  out at the Maritime Park. All the volunteers at Deltaville Maritime Museum’s 12th Annual “Scary Halloween in the Park” are again turning on the “spook-o-meter” as Halloween takes place this coming Tuesday Oct 31st  from 6-8pm at the Maritime Park, located at 287 Jackson Creek Road.

There’ll be plenty of candy and levels of scariness for costumed folks of all ages. Parking in our convenient lots and admission to this event are free to the public. “Scary Halloween in the Park” is being held on the official date of Halloween for Middlesex.

“Scary Halloween” volunteers work hard to makes sure there is a “scariness” level to make all age groups comfortable..  In the “Pavilion of Peril”, all comers will find a well-lit, less “scary” area in both North and south events pavilion wings with plenty of candy for the children being handed out by Museum volunteers, and local businesses and organizations in costume. Billz Bistro concessions will be open, I’ll be grillin’ up the hot dogs and serving hot chocolate, cookies  and hot coffee.

In the “Field of Screams”, 2 wagons of hayrides run a perilous, serpentine path through the ghosts, goblins and general dark and scariness. What will happen next?  Only the “Great Pumpkin” knows. It’s all a wonderful surprise!

I know there are those of you out there who think you are not scared of anything, but…. Be warned, you’ll need dauntless daring to discover what lies along the dark & somber paths of the “Wailing Woods”. Nothing gets the adrenaline flowing like a winding, wailing, withering, wraithfull, walk through the paths of the “Wailin’ Woods”. Watch out, there may be a Zombie or two. Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

On a lighter note, there is always plenty of candy, candy, candy for all, thanks to the Museum and our generous local businesses, organizations and individuals.

Parking will be in our spacious West lots. The Middlesex Sheriff’s Department will be on hand to direct traffic and help with parking.
