Holiday Gift Market

Nov 25, 2017 9:00 am - Nov 25, 2017 1:00 pm

Thanksgiving is on its way, and with it Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park’s 10th Annual “Holiday Gift Market”, happening on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 25th from 9am-1pm. This is the Maritime Park’s “shopper friendly” local alternative to the traffic and congestion of the “Black Friday” Weekend.

Beat the mall crowds, enjoy the Fall colors in the Park and shop local too! Need some fresh local produce, honey, eggs, goat cheese or other local foods for that Sunday dinner? Looking for that extra special and unique gift for a certain someone for Christmas? You can find it here.  Over 30 vendors already.

You get it all as our vendors bring out their Christmas and gift oriented items for this special market. Billz Bistro, located in the events pavilion’s North wing, opens at 8am with a special “breakfast only” Holiday menu. The Bistrobunchers will offer, along with their famous local egg sandwiches and “made from scratch” biscuits, breakfast plates serving their new “BistroBenedict”. This new dish can be ordered  with either bacon, country ham, or crab. Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas will be offered at the bar for a true Holiday “Brunch”. The “Bunchers” all agree, the Hollandaise Sauce is a winner!

David and his Snak-Shak will serve the hamburgers, hot dogs and BBQ for the Holiday Market. The Snak –Shak will be in the Waterfront Park next to the Tea House.

Marty brings all his flavors of his “ Swineskins” to the Waterfront. Check out his new salt and vinegar flavor. It’s a hit.

Holiday vendors will line the avenues and gardens toward the waterfront as the Park shows off its autumn colors. The leaves of the forests and arbors are turning to their vivid reds, yellow and orange against an evergreen backdrop. All the Park’s trails and gardens are open for strolling or just sitting and relaxing. Grab a cup of coffee or hot chocolate at Billz Bistro, sit and enjoy.

The Nationally Historic Registered F.D.Crockett will be back at the dock, offering tours of the beautifully restored workboat.

Captain Pete(Cardozo), , will be at the helm of the restored deadrise “Only Son” offering free creek cruises of Mill and Jackson Creeks. , The “Only Son” is graciously on loan from the Farinholt Brothers at Chesapeake Boat Works for the market.

The Museum’s John Smith replica shallop, “Explorer”, will be on display in her new “Land Dock” display building next to the Museum as the Explorer Society does some maintenance after her busy season. Enjoy the new walk and plantings around the Museum.

Check out the construction progress on the new 20’ deadrise, Hull 102, at the “Boat Shop” on the Waterfront.

The Deltaville Maritime Museum opens early at 9am with the Museum presenting several new and improved exhibits. The Museum gift shop will be open with unique gifts for everyone. New hats and shirts are in. The Museum will remain open til 4pm.
